Outreach Committee:
The outreach committee at St. Matthew's does many different projects throughout the year to help the surrounding community as well as people throughout the world.
In our local community we have provided Christmas gifts and food baskets at Easter and Christmas to needy families at Head Start and the local elementary school. We also provide hygiene bags to the children at Head Start. These bags contain everything from toothpaste and toothbrushes to combs and har ties for the girls.
We are also a site for Otsego County Senior Meals. We host meals everyday for seniors through Otsego County Office for the Aging.
We also have two Girl Scout Troops who meet at the church.
In the world at large we support a family of missionaries in Peru through South American Missionary Society.
Also, our deacon, Charlie Bailey, and his wife Polly help to lead a short term mission trip to the Dominican Republic every year. The help with construction projects, Vacation Bible School, medical help.
